I just wrote a post about how I got through the last week due to a lucky amount of supplies rather than planning. I decided after the water and power situations stabilized that I want to keep a two weeks' supply of bottled water, food, and batteries for flashlights in a closet from now on. I've done a little reading on prepping just out of curiosity, but I'm very dismayed at how this space and market is dominated by far-right types and companies. I wouldn't want to support them, so I plan on getting things like canned tuna and crackers from the grocery store. The way I see it, I may not be afraid of the government coming to seize my guns, but I am afraid of future extreme-weather events caused by climate change and worsened by crumbling infrastructure.
